Question for parents whose child has applied to B-Schools

Do any parents hang out in the Business School section of this site? I haven’t seen the types of discussions I’m looking for there about the application process. If your S or D has applied to B-School, was s/he able to visit in the summer when the formal visitation program was in recess? If so, was it worth his or her while in terms of gathering information about the school?

Don’t have a kid in B-school, but I went to B-school. You’d have been hard pressed to find much of anyone except a few administrators there over the summer – perhaps an Executive MBA section my be in progress, but that’s about it.

On the other hand, there are quite a few external sources for good information about different B schools’ strengths, placement records, and so on. I’m not sure that a school visit, especially during the summer, is as valuable as it is for undergraduate programs.

Thanks for your reply. DS has come to the same conclusion.
