I’ve been reading about Testmasters and it seems that most attendees do report good things about the writing portion of Testmasters.

Are the principles taught in the Testmasters prep course for writing also presented in their Testmasters Study Guide?

I’m just wondering if would be better to just buy the book and study that section rather than pay the money for the whole course when improving writing is the greatest need.

Mae

Pay nothing and review silverturtle’s excellent writing guide for the SAT.

I went to Testmasters, and I thought it was very helpful with the writing section. On the last 2 SATs, I’ve only missed one and two questions in the multiple choice writing. They also give you a formula for the essay.

I’ve heard TestMaster’s prep is really intensive with a lot of homework. That practice should do you good, especially on the math and writing sections. If only TestMaster’s operated in New Jersey =/

Care to elaborate and share?

The homework is really just tests out of the bb and studying vocab. But the classes really do help.

As far as the formula goes, they basically give you your thesis statement and topic sentences and everything and basically make the essay a piece of cake no matter what topic you get.

Interesting, that sounds… useful. By any chance, you know what that ‘formula’ was called? Maybe I can google it or something.
