<p>It pains me to say that your son has received a “Waitlist” letter.</p>
<p>Here’s what to do if you receive a Waitlist (aka Alternate List) letter and Rochester is still your # 1 choice…</p>
<p>1) Immediately mail back the “I’m still interested in Rochester” form.</p>
<p>2) Give the Admissions Office a call. We want to hear your concerns and help you through this process.</p>
<p>3) Feel free to share information with us (via mail / email) about what you’ve been up to since you’ve applied to Rochester. Perhaps your grades keep going up, perhaps you won an award, etc.</p>
<p>The waitlist pool will remain dormant for awhile. Once we get a better idea about our yield (the # of students who accept our admit offers), we will then know if we will need to dip into the waitlist. This typically happens around the end of April / beginning of May. Hope for the best, but expect the worst. Rochester hasn’t been a school in recent years that has relied on the waitlist to complete a freshman class, but anything can happen.</p>
