Question: LS Mandatory exam

im planning to take LS 1 this fall but it says
For Life Sciences 1, lecture 1, there will be two MANDATORY midterm examinations from 5 to 6:50 p.m. on the following Thursdays: October 23 and November 13, 2008;for lecture 2, there will be two MANDATOR midterm examinations from 5 to 6:50 p.m. on the following Tuesdays: October 21 and November 18, 2008.No alternate midterm examination arrangements can be made except as authorized under Section 92640(a) of the California Education Code for religious creed or as prearranged with the Office for Students with Disabilities.

Can I change to mandatory midterm exam date? Why won’t we take the midterm during our regular class time?

not enough time or larger lecture halls to accommodate exam-takers

As it says, you have to take the midterms for your lecture on those mandatory dates; if you don’t, you fail the class.

this sucks… why can’t we just take exam during the class period… stupid…

It’s just how they do it in the LS department. Love it or hate it, just deal with it. It’s kind of pointless to complain about it… almost… go make a request to them. To be honest with you, it’s not so bad since that extra time gives you more of a chance ;D
