I am class rank is one and I thought I will come under ELC program but the status is not showing when checking my UC application. I am from CA high school but non citizen. My GC asked for parent authorization back in June which I submitted so that my information can be provided to UC.
Perhaps you’re not looking in the right place? Here’s how I found it on my application:
Log in to your UC application account.
In that orange box that has all the options in blue to click on, select the one at the bottom. It should say “Application Status.”
If you did make ELC status, above the list of campuses you’ve applied to, there should be this message:
“Congratulations! According to UC calculations, you rank in the top 9 percent of students from your high school. If you also meet the minimum admissions requirements, we will make every effort to offer you admission to at least one UC campus.”
The phrase “top 9 percent” will be a link that you can click on to read more about ELC.
I was worried about this too, until I realized that it wasn’t supposed to show up under “View Application.”
I hope that this helps, and good luck!
ELC is only for California state residents.
As a non-citizen, are you a US permanent resident or not?
My Permanent Resident Application is pending. I may get it this year. Is that the reason why not seeing ELC? I selected Non Immigrant Visa and the type as Other. In additional information I mentioned my Permanent Application is pending.
