Question on Qualifications to Top Tier Schools

Alright so im wondering what are the qualifications to certain top tier schools…i can tell you a little bout my first 2 years of highschool and a to a certain extent courses i plan to take and so on…i am not bragging or anything but i need to understand how to get into these great schools

mainly Johns Hopkins for BME and then Medicine

so i dont know what this GPA system is but i currently have about a A average

i had a A- average in grade 9/ A average in grade 10

Grade 10-

i also found out canadian grading system is very very different from american system…our percentages are marked differently…according to canada 85-89 is a A, 90-99 is a A+, 80-84 is a A-

if anyone can give me aide on this topic id appreciate it…id like to know different extracurriculars that can give me a boost in strengthening my application and yah other programs i can do over the summer…if u would like to know our school only allows AP in grade 12 so no juniors are allowed to do AP Courses persay but i am self studying 4 APs currently just for the exam…

anyways hints and helpful comments…some words of encouragement perhaps?

Just to comment on the grading system - I’m guessing you live in Ontario, because the Letter grade to Percentage grade varies in different provinces.

But yea, if your councilor hands in your percentage mark, I believe the admissions will boost it up a notch if you are from Canada.

thanks for replying…very useful info i heard some schools did that but wasnt sure…so basically an A to u guys is a 90 or what?

I’m Canadian. lol

Anyways, yea I think for America A is 90+

btw, Hurray for French immersion buddies! High Fives you

hell ya! high fives back

lucky i wanna be in french immersion…
thanks PA for thinking french immersion was elitism
(is that even a word)

im so glad to hear that admissions boost it up a notch… its so hard to get 90’s in my school.
