Question/problem

Before the break, I called and FSU and they told me they had received my material and they were going to process them.

However, I just checked and the materials have not been processed.

I called the admissions office and the answering machine says that they will not resume their activities until the Jan 3rd. The problem is that the deadline for the second admission notification is the Jan 2nd.

I’m worried that they won’t process my materials before Jan 2nd and thefore I won’t be considered for the second deadline.

Comments/suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Follow up your call with an email (today or before the due date) and also be sure to call again as soon as business hours resume.

I wouldn’t worry at all. It did the same for me when i applied

It took about 2-3 weeks just to put in that I was a Florida Resident because they had received such a large amount of applications. Also, since the date hasn’t approached yet they haven’t even began looking at those materials. once the deadline comes, that’s when they will start processing.

If you would feel better if you called then do so, but I wouldn’t worry at all!

They may have processed them and just not have updated your information on the website. If you just checked your status, it’s current as of December 21st since winter break and no changes will be made until January 2nd when the office re-opens.

Hello! I currently work for the office of admissions at FSU… if you just checked the website then it probably wasn’t updated since it is the holidays. If someone told you they have ALL your materials (i.e. transcripts, test scores, etc.) then you are fine. Usually we call the students that are missing something… if you did not receive a call or e-mail that you are missing a part of your application you are in the clear. Good luck with your admission! :)

how does a new student find out about p/t jobs in admissions? are they posted somewhere or should he just show up and fill out an application?

PW - are you grad or undergrad?
