<p>If a high school student takes a summer course at a Junior College that is a UC transferable course, how is this determined in their GPA for UC applications?</p>
<p>I have heard that each JC summer course counts as a full year of high school credit, with an extra grade point (assuming the student hasn’t reached the maximum number of AP/Honors classes for grade point average determination). For example, an A in a summer course would count as a 2 semester high school class with 5.0 grade credit, a B would count as a 2 semester class with 4.0 grade credit. Is this the correct understanding? Thank you for your help.</p>
