Question regarding Amsco US History

I heard that Amsco US history is almost a textbook not a review book.
How long is the book? How many chapters are there?

30 chapters. 676 pages not counting the practice exam, but including all of the things in between that don’t count as material (e.g. end-of-the-chapter questions and DBQ help).

Don’t be misled though, the pages are rather small (I’d say the width is about 4/5 of a textbook page and the height of the book is about 7/8 of a textbook page). The style isn’t like a textbook either. It’s succinct, to the point, and easy to read.

O.O… 676?! Do you think I’ll have time to cram that all in by May (considering that I have to study for other APs and deal with school)?

i think you’ll be fine if you do a chapter or so a day… what i usually do is take notes (handwritten so i can remember them) on one chapter and then go over the terms that are listed in the back of each chapter and answer the questions pertaining to each chapter… i can finish this in about 1 hr or so

it works well enough for me :D

or you can just read the whole chapter and reivew the chapter at the end

its an easy read and extremely helpful, do two chapters a day for about two weeks and you’ll probably get a 5 granted you can recall the info!

It’s quite thorough, but it’s really not that bad.

It’s VERY easy to understand.

The pages are like the pages of a novel. (they’re small)

Out of those 676 pages, many of them are assignments / questions, and not readings.

It’s well-organized and the font is pretty large.

AMSCO is a great read from front to back. Succinct and direct style of writing. Don’t worry.
