Question regarding DECA accomplishment

Under my common app, I described my DECA experience. I had always recalled placing 5th at state competition, but recently, when looking at my awards, I realized I had placed 6th. I didn’t intend to lie, so should I update Yale about this or should I leave it as is and hope for the best? I want to be honest, but I also don’t want to waste anybody’s time reconsidering my app because of one wrong number. This didn’t change my participation in the national competition, so should I leave it?

You should also be aware that I’ve attempted to contact Yale in the past about other instances, but I’ve never received anything back.

No idea what DCEA is, but it is very unlikely that they will ever notice the slight error. It is also very unlikely that they would change your decision if you told them now. So, either way, 99% of the time it will make no difference so I wouldn’t worry… Perhaps just mail them with it to be safe

Haha I think I know what DECA is, and if so it’s awesome, and so are you, just saying :D. If I know what you’re talking about.

Anyways…if you applied SEAS I’d say just leave it.
If you get deferred or applied RD I guess leaving it would be alright, but make sure to send the correct placement for any other future applications you may have. It shouldn’t really matter, but they might frown on you if they see a discrepancy…but like Idiosyncra3y said, there’s a very minute chance it’d make a difference. It’s not like they’d change an accept/reject decision on that basis.

FBLA is better than DECA

Google told me I DECA is not what I thought at all.
I still think you’re awesome though ;)

what did you think it was Madschock? I’m curious
