Hi.
I am going to be a freshman, and I have received an e-mail from Princeton in which it says that these filled out forms should be handed in on sign-in day.
However, since I haven’t even gone to Princeton, what should I fill out in the I-9 form? Every section seems to be meant to be filled out by the employer.
The tax report form says that I should bring an I-94 form. That one I’m going to get when I pass the border, right?
I’m sorry for being ignorant, but it’s kind of a maze with all these forms.

The I-9 form is an immigration form. It’s for you to provide proof that you are legally able to work. You fill out the top part with your name, date of birth, etc, and then you bring the forms of ID requested with you to the college for them to examine.

They should have sent you a list of appropriate forms of ID. You can give them one item from list A, or one from list B AND one from list C. They will need to examine the original document.

You are correct that most of the form is filled out by them. You only need to fill in the top part and then provide the ID. They do the rest.

Sorry, but I dont’ know anything about the I-94 form.

For the address part on the I-9 form, you want to put your home address and not your Princeton one. That wasn’t exactly obvious for me, so I asked one of the Princeton managers in charge of student employment and she told me this. Hope that helps a bit. I don’t know much about this form either.

I-94 is for internationals, it gets put in your passport. you would know if it applies to you.
