Question regarding short response

I am curious as to how much more the UW admissions weighs the short response compared to the personal statement? My personal statement is near fabulous, but my short response is mediocre. Is there a chance that they might reject or wait-list me based on an average short response?

In case you are wondering, here are my stats:
SAT: 1840 (CR 560, M 630 W 650) I’ll be retaking this Saturday hoping to get over 1950
GPA: 3.75 UW
Rank: top 10% (34th out of 400)
AP course load: 2 last year, 3 this year
Location: Washington state
EC: Varsity tennis for three years, typical volunteer work (+100 hours), after-school clubs, and few leadership positions that are mostly church-related
Intended major: Neuroscience
Essay: Wrote about my health issue and how it has motivated to become a pediatrician.

Your personal statement lets them know who you are, while the short response lets them know if who you are will fit in well at UW.

Take them both seriously. If it shows that you did not try as hard on the short response, it could reflect poorly. But whether or not they would deny you because of it seems doubtful.

Your stats on the other hand are solid so I would suggest having your favorite english teacher go over your short response and ask where there could be any improvement (expansion, anecdotes, figurative language, you know the deal).
