My friend and I are very skeptical of someone we know and her supposed acceptance early decision (which somehow turned into a deferral and then a regular decision rejection and then a guaranteed transfer option) and when my friend asked if he could see her status as deferred, she said that her “early decision pin” was erased. Does such a pin exist or has she not even done her research to lie well? I know this question is kind of malicious but any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Why do you care?

It sounds like this person probably just lied out of shock at their deferral, and could be lying about a GT option…but…

Does it matter? It’s your senior year, no? Go have fun or something.

i was accepted ED, and the only thing close to a pin that i received was the applicant id. mine was erased, but only after i got a net id. i don’t know if the applicant id could be erased otherwise.

but we didn’t call it an “early decision pin” that is suspicious.

Also consider that there could a reason that she wishes to NOT share all of the details with you. A story…a beautiful young lady at my daughter’s school happily shared the news last winter that she was ED to a Stanford. Last March she said she decided not to attend Stanford, but instead a local university. The rumors were soaring about how she had lied about the ED. The reality - she did get accepted ED to Stanford, her cancer that had been in remission, resurfaced and she choose to go to school where she could live at home with her supportive family.

I agree with Collegehopefull, “Go Have Fun” and stop caring about other people’s business.
