I see that a number of you have already applied as a transfer for Fall 07’ to the Ivies. To those of you that applied, did you send everything out already (Teacher Rec’s, Deans Report, Mid Year Grade Report, ect…)? Or did you just send the app. out and are currently gathering all the other components as the deadline is not until mid-March? In other words, should I send the app. out now and then all the components later, or should I wait until I have everything finished so I can send all of it around relatively the same time? Also, the mid-year grade report for Penn asks for an evaluation of my current performance (this semester), how can I possibly complete this form when the semester just began this week? Do I wait to finish this form? Advice is appreciated.

Colleges receive materials in sequential order all the time and it is perfectly fine to send bit by bit. I mean, even if you try, you have no real control when your teachers mail your recs or when your SAT’s will get there. So submit them as you finish them is my best advice.

Also, if you are speaking about Form 4, that is quite literally a mid-semester report and you will have to submit that after the deadline

ditto to what macsheesh said.

I would like to also add that watch out for certain colleges that do “rolling admissions” …you might want to submit the app as soon as you can.

Which colleges have rolling admissions?
Also, are you just using the midyear report that’s available to frosh applicants?

I can’t remember any at the top of my head right now cause im half asleep…but there are quite a few that do have rolling admissions.

Ok, I guess a more specified question I have is as follows. Penn requires transfer applicants to submit a “mid-term grade report” which it says it should be filled out by my current faculty member and to be returned to the office of admissions at Penn. I assume the intent of this form is to display my current academic performance this semester thus far. However, the semester just started and I won

you won?

't have any grades for at least a month. I want to get everything completed and submitted to the university because the deadline is not very far away (March 15th). How do I handle this form? Do I wait until it is closer to the deadline and then get it filled out? Do I wait until the deadline passes until I have a decent amount of grades before I send it? Any advice would be great.

Sorry about that, lol.
