<p>Exactly how much does racial and regional diversity help? I know that a lot of people call it a hook, but I’m not sure if it is enough to get into a reach school.</p>

I’ve heard it helps, but it’s not a “hook”. But then again, I am a poster on the internet and therefore not a reliable source. You could directly ask the admissions office at the schools you’re applying to. And most top tier schools are “reach schools” for everyone. Even if you’re qualified to attend a top tier school, it’s still a “reach”. However, good luck with the application process!</p>
