Question

I went to California Lutheran Univeristy my freshman year and I transferred to Moorpark College this year as a sophomore. Is it possible I can Join the tap program and complete all the classes this spring

I believe you need to be in TAP at least two semesters, meaning you needed to start this fall. Someone might want to verify.

What if I joined it now?

You’ll have to talk to your advisor but I believe the rule is two semesters and you would have had to have gotten that squared away by beginning of fall. Depending on your GPA, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. Many many folks get in without it.

I have a 3.74 gpa as a poli sci major I’m not that confident in my chances

You are asking the wrong people.

Go to the advisors at Moorpark. They are the only ones who would know.
CC people here can only give you advice. It is up to you to follow-through and ask the questions at your school.

Get some confidence, email the transfer specialists and ask them for an appointment regarding TAP.
Take your unofficial transcripts with you from Cal Lu. Their job is to help you, so ASK for HELP.

Um, aunt bea, it says on the UCLA TAP website that it must be started by fall. So I don’t think moorpark is the only place that knows.

@buzzcat12 your GPA is competitive so you’re definitely in the running. Just make sure you have excellent personal statements, all requirements completed, and maybe an EC or two for good measure.

@lindyk8, the OP really needs some on-site advice, and since he attends the school, he can get the information directly from the school. That was basically my point, not to force a TAP agreement. Reread the post about asking for help.

(He may be too late for TAP, but I’m sure he/she has other questions about transfer to the UCs since he/she will have a private transcript and a CC transcript when he/she transfers.)

The Moorpark counselors would have to look at the OP’s credits from CAL LU and their own articulation agreements with the UCs, for wherever he decides to transfer later.

With that GPA and trend, @buzzcat12, you should be good to go.

A friend of mine got into UCB’s PoliSci with a 3.5, and I know someone who knows someone who got into UCB’s PoliSci with a 3.79. You’re competitive. Make sure you complete your GE (IGETC ideally) and major prerequisites.

I actually got into the honors program so I think I can do the TAP program
