FYI: this question is not relevant to SAT/ACT test preparations…but my friend brought it up the other day…and i just wanna have a second opnion on this…ok…

do u need a private tutor to help u on the entrance essay to universities…some of my friends are paying big bucks for private tutoring…i dunno…wut i should do…my other friend wrote the essay at the last minute without any help from tutors…and still went to a decent school ( UCSD)…so…

No, you do not need a private tutor. If you feel like hiring one will actually help your application enough to justify the (probably tremendous) expense, then by all means, go ahead. But don’t feel like it’s necessary to get into a good school.

I didn’t have outside help with my essays, except for a proofreading or two by my parents, and I didn’t even spend that much time on them. I just wrote what felt like “me”. And it worked out fine.
