question

i am engaged to a current ivy league student, and am applying to his school as a transfer, mainly so that i can be closer to him.

do you think it would be helpful to include this personal information in my application? or would it be an overshare?

It might help out just a tad bit, but not by much. If you were married it would make a difference though.

I am not sure that would be something you should include. They may think that is your main reason for going there and then what happens if the plans fall through? You need to let them know you are going there for you not him. I think it just sends an iffy message.

maybe you should consider marrying to him…j/k. I would first explain your main reasons to transfer and include your personal information last.

tigger_style are you kidding NO! It’s like saying I want to go to Boston U. so I can hunt for sightings of Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck or I want to go to University of Chicago so I can savour a meal of Gyros and check out some Oprah tapeings. Academically speaking tell them why do you want to transfer.

^lol (10 chars)

Answer this simple question:

Is there any other reason you want to be closer to your fiancee besides that you just want to be with him more often (or that you are afraid he may be cheating on you)?

If you answered “No” to the above question, do not include.
