question

Hi,

I didn’t do as well on the SAT as I had hoped (1900 1310 M+CR). I completely messed up on the math part because I narrowed it down to 2 sections that could be experimental, and unfortunately, the one I probably did well on was the one that was experimental :frowning: But anyway, is 1310 decent for UND given that I’m asian indian? I know I can do better, but do I even stand a chance if I can only get around 1350?

If theres any school that looks at the entire package ( gpa … ecs… leadership… sats) its ND… a 1310 wont help you… and it will prob hurt you… but if you increase it to a 1350 … and the rest of your app is great… then I wouldnt get so down on yourself…

1350’s pushing it…average here is over 1400.

If you look at some of the threads from the past year, you will see that oftentimes students get admitted with below your SAT score, but they may have a beautiful essay or interesting ECs. (While people with SATs higher than yours were rejected.) Don’t stress yourself out about that score, if you feel like your whole application presents an interesting person.

its really a pendulum. do your grades and essays make up for the average sat score? in my situation. my grades were average, but my sat score saved me. i had a b+a- average but a 2220 sat score (1480).
