question...

do top colleges place a lot of emphasis on extra volunteer work, jobs, internships, etc.??

because i do a lot of sports (all summer too)…so that doesnt leave me much time to save the world or have a part-time job…

Top colleges want strong ECs. This can come from a job, internship, volunteering, clubs, or sports. Generally, it is a combination of several of those. While obviously doing only sports is not ideal, the colleges will see how much time you’re dedicating, and that you clearly have a passion for athletics, and will definitely recognize that you’ve been working hard. So no, it’s not the end of the world. And if you’re good enough to be recruited, that’s fantastic.

no im not good enough for recruiting & i have other things such as clubs & music i was just wondering

thanks!
