if two kids from my school who matriculated to stanford both ended up committing suicide there, would that affect my admissions decisions at stanford in any way? (i’m not really clear on whether they killed themselves THERE or whatever, I just know that they got into Stanford) … my school is really competitive and we send many graduates to top schools, but lately about five to six kids of the graduating class have committed suicide (all at the top schools-- not during their freshman year… some were sophomores, some seniors).

I don’t think that’ll have an effect on your chances.

But that’s a really strange case. Do you know why? Are they investigating these recurring cases?

Oh, okay. I thought it might because i heard that colleges look at the students from your school and evaluate their performance.
I have no idea why they ended up doing that. I think it was out of parental pressure. As I’ve already mentioned, my school is very competitive-- sometimes even cutthroat competitive.
All of the graduates from my school who ended up committing suicide at their colleges were Asian.
