Questioning= Insubordination?!

I was in my AP Computer Science class and it was the last day of school. Our teacher gave us some programs to do and not one person in the class finished them. My friend got mad at the teacher because he was asking for help for the past 3 days, and received none. He went on a rant, and the teacher told him to sit in the hallway. About 5 mins later, I went to blow my nose and on the way to the garbage I checked up on him. This is when it started. The teacher screams, “Get back in here!” So i do. On the way back, the class starts to crack up so i had to laugh. Now she gets even more mad. Then, she tells me to get off the computer. This is when i question her reasoning. I ask her why should i get off the computer, and she tells me that i am not doing my work. I then told her, “But i actually am doing my work. In fact, I am ahead of the majority of the class, and I even handed in a program today. So why should i get off the computer.” Now my teacher gets ****ed and takes me to the room next to our class. She has a talk with me and tell me i was getting in trouble for insubordination. I told her i was not being insubordinate, I was just questioning an illogical reason to send someone off the computer.

Tell me what you think. Everyone was happy for me because they all thought she is one of the worst teachers in our school.

I think you should just relax and forget it all. Its summer! C’mon! Go grab a cookie to eat. Watch KArate Kid (supposed to be super special awesome). Go beat ur friends in Halo or brawl.

Express your anger responsibly. I mean you may have thought she was being illogical, but you know how teachers are today. You cannot tell them anything.

^^Yah, i would but my parents grounded me. I got off on Thursday and am grounded until tonight. I was able to go out to the beach on Thursday and was able to hang with my friends Friday afternoon and then my parents made me come home and stay home until tomorrow(Monday) morning.

What exactly did they ground you for?
You shouldn’t have talked back to your teacher. Apparently she is insensible. Her age?

Doing what she says then questioning her=/=insubordination
Questioning her and in the process not doing what she says=insubordination

You did not get off the computer when she told you to. That’s insubordination.

I agree with rhythmgaming and esthetique. While it wasn’t exactly a major “insubordination,” it was still going against what she said and she has a right to be angry.

We’ve all been through teachers like that! Just relax and you getting grounded (which won’t go on your permanent record) is probably a lot better than some of the other things that could have happened in this situation.

I would’ve done the same thing =.
