Questions about ASU

Hello Everyone!

I am currently applying to colleges, and I recently looked at ASU, and it looks really amazing. I only have a few issues that I was hoping you guys could answer.

  1. Is the University safe for black people? Like, in terms of me fitting in. I don’t really care if a college is diverse, just as long as the people there aren’t racist.
  2. How are the healthcare opportunities? I am planning on going to your pharmacy school later in the road and soon after, go to medical school, so I wanted to ask if ASU provides great opportunities for those kinds of people. I did apply to UofA but I think it would be great to apply here to.
  3. How is the Social Scene? I love when colleges are in cities since there can always be good opportunities, so I wanted to ask if Tempe is the same thing but I am pretty sure it is great.
  4. How often do they give scholarships? My parent don’t really get any federal money since they make too much, but I do have amazing extracurriculars, and my GPA is 3.58 weighted, plus my high school courses are mainly Honors and AP classes, not sure if that could impact anything, but I am still curious.

You asked the same about Utah.

Why not put all your schools on one thread.

  1. Safety is in the eye of the beholder. Hopefully every school is safe for everyone. ASU is far more diverse than Utah. It’s 4.4% black but under 50% white.
  2. You will find healthcare opportunities in most large cities - if you can find them. You can research shadowing opportunities to learn more.
  3. Asu is 64K kids but has several campuses - but it’ll have what you want and more.
  4. They have a scholarship estimator on line. I linked below.

Given you have a 3.58 weighted, it’s hard to know what you’ll get. You need an unweighted GPA. Put a 4 for an A, 3 for a B, 2 for a C - and divide by # of classes, etc.

For a more traditional campus, I’d recommend Arizona over ASU - and U New Mexico is known for strong health care opportunities. All are diverse - mostly hispanic.

good luck.

Maybe list all schools you have the same questions about below.

Be sure to consider your in-state public options as well since money seems to be a factor.

For question 4, see | Financial Aid & Scholarship Services , but you need to recalculate your unweighted GPA in the listed types of courses.

Yes, as I already suggested on your other thread, address these questions about multiple schools in a single thread.

AND, respond to the follow-up questions that people take the time to ask you. It doesn’t make people want to help you, when you ignore the folks who try to interact with you on one thread, and start an identical thread about a different school without providing any of the additional info you’ve been asked about.

Actually, you have started five threads and have received 37 responses, many of which asked thoughtful follow-up questions. You haven’t responded to, or even acknowledged, a single one of these responses. At some point you’re just wasting everybody’s time on purpose.

This is actually the wrong question to ask.

The answer is - here’s what my family is willing to spend each year.

Then the question is - which schools can get me there.

There are schools cheaper full pay than others with merit aid.

what is your home state what is your test score?
