Questions about CGS

Is it possible to take Math throughout all of the two years?

Do all students in the CGS get to continue on to a school of their choice after their two years or do they have to reapply to BU?

Is it really worth $50,000?

Can anyone help?

dont know

you continue on to a school, but i believe schools like cfa and eng would be excluded for sheer practicality

depends on who youre asking, some would say yes, others would say no

I would say no to the third. I know us news should not be the sole factor in choosing a college, but just look at the dry stats. you might as well attend state school. And especially if it is CGS. I mean, congrats if you got in there, but people at BU don’t just call CGS “crayon glue and scissors” for no reason.

honestly, it wouldn’t hurt to consider attending state school or community college for two years, then transferring if you are deciding on CGS.

You’re allowed to take courses in other colleges, not sure whether it’s allowed frosh yr but definitely sophomore year. I know a few friends who began taking courses for their intended major soph yr while they were still in cgs.

Once you’re in CGS, you’re guaranteed a seat in one of the other colleges.

Depends on the person I would say. The way the program is designed, it works very well for certain ppl, not so well for others.

You can take Math every year except first semester freshmen year.

You’re guaranteed a seat in another college…ENG and CFA aren’t excluded…but if you want to do ENG they’ll put you in SEP…which is basically just CGS for people who intend to major in Math or Science.

If you’re set on BU, CGS is worth $50,000. If you’re just trying to get in and get out, maybe you should look at a state school. But beware of the crayons-glue-scissors comparisons…CGS isn’t as easy as other kids make it out to be.

I believe I read something about summer school. You just got to look at your requirements for the respective school you hope to enroll. They allow you to take some classes at other universities to fulfill certain prerequisites.

You do have a spot but you got to make the grades. I think you must attain a 2.3.

This will probably boil down to a matter of opinion. I directly applied. Not because I am stupid or didn’t make the grades, I just know that I would rather focus on generals before I got to the knitty, gritty! To each is own.
