Questions about Essay Length

<p>Is it okay to literally fill up your essay to the exact word limit? My CommonApp right now is at 498 words after multiple edits. However, I wouldn’t mind revising and revising it again (something I’ll do anyways) if generally longer essays might be tedious for admissions officers to read. I don’t want to annoy them. however, I do think that every word in the essay contributes to my personal statement.</p>

<p>I think you are fine. I wouldn’t worry about it. If every word is necessary, and they have allotted you that amount of space, then I don’t see how they can fairly punish you for using all of that space.</p>

<p>You should look over it again and try to fix phrases that have ‘to become’ or ‘to have’ or anything with to. I feel like when you change these little phrases the essay sounds a little better.</p>
