Questions about GW.

Hello
I have some questions about GW.

  1. I am looking for a college that is fairly preppy. Would GW fit me in that regard?
  2. Does GW have a good Political Science/Government program?
  3. I am very conservative, and don’t want to attend a college that is Ueber-Liberal. Are there conservatives at GW?
  4. Could I get into GW ED?

  1. Yes, GW is fairly preppy. It’s not as preppy as an Ivy school but it’s much different than a state school.
  2. YES! GW is known for it’s Poli Sci program! The close proximity to the White House and Capital make it a prime location! Not to mention all of the internships on the hill that GW receives every year.
  3. I think GW has a healthy balance of liberal/conservative viewpoints. It’s definitely MORE liberal than conservative, but that’s 90% of universities out there. I’m conservative-leaning and didn’t feel out of place there. I found plenty of friends that were also conservatives, and when I was there for the 2008 election there was a strong College Republican showing.
  4. Those stats are only average, so you’d need a strong extra curricular record coupled with a strong essay. Tough to say what your chances are without knowing more.
