Questions about reply cards

Hi guys, I know I start a ton of threads, but I have a question maybe someone else has. I received my green folder today, and as many of you know, the book included, titled "Instructions for Candidates Offered Admission" has cards that you have to mail back. My question is specifically about the Uniform Data Card. I am a female, and was wondering...where it says chest size...would that be the chest above the breast or around the breast? I'm not entirely sure and want to furnish the best information to West Point that I can. Sorry I had to be so candid. :)

First of all, congratulations on your appointment! It's always great to hear the good news.

In a few days your Candidate Information page will be updated. It will include a link that will explain exactly how to measure for all parts of the card.

I had to buy a suit for Boys State last year, and I went to the same store and had them measure for me. I also think there's a link somewhere that talks about measurements--I'll try to find it.

Congrats on the appointment!

Be careful. Your comments/questions reflect on West Point, the service academy that has offered you an appointment, as well as the other female candidates/cadets. By the way, have you read the Tri Academy Climate Survey report?

I'm sorry, did I offend someone? I wasn't trying to be rude by using anatomical names, but I wanted an accurate answer. As to the number of questions I ask, I'd rather ask other people who'd gone through it than my regional commander, who I'm sure is busy enough as it is. What gives usna09mom?

I read the article, and while I understand your concern over sexual issues at the academies, I hardly think my asking where I should be measured constitutes me sparking the minds of any deviant males at WP. Hopefully, males that are appointed to WP are a bit more mature than the average and realize I was asking about measurements and not implying anything sexually.

Don't worry about it . . .your question hardly reflects on WP since you are not, technically, even enrolled in WP. You will find that some people get offended about the most minor of issues; don't fret, assuming that your inquiry is legitimate, then keep asking questions.

Thanks Bill, I was starting to think I did something wrong.

I don't know if you'll read this in time, but everyone I've spoken to has submitted a bust measurement (fullest part). Worst case scenario, we'll all just be given baggy shirts:o)
But I've heard that they also measure you on R-day, just to verify your size.
Hope to see you there!

Yea, I've heard that it actually doesn't matter at all what you put on the card. It just gives them a "guesstimate" about how many of each kind they'll need. I guess that applies more to the shoes than anything.
