Questions about SCEA

Can I apply SCEA if I am an international?

If I am accepted under SCEA, is it compulsory to attend? Can I still apply regular decision to another university? (I know, who would be accepted to Yale and not attend? But my dream school is Princeton and Yale comes second, and Princeton does not offer an early action anymore)

If I am rejected under SCEA, do I have any chance if I apply again RD?

1) Yes, you may apply as an international.
2) Attendance is not compulsory if you are accepted SCEA
3) You can still apply regular decision to other schools
4) If you are rejected SCEA, your application will not be considered regular decision, and you can’t reapply. If you are “deferred” during SCEA, your application will be considered again.

The only restriction to SCEA is that Yale must be the only school you apply to early. Otherwise, you’re open to do what you want with your applications.

“The only restriction to SCEA is that Yale must be the only school you apply to early.”

Does that mean I can’t apply to my state school early as well as Yale SCEA? I know Stanford SCEA lets you apply to public schools and schools with rolling admissions as well.

No, SCEA (Single Choice Early Action) means you can only apply to one school as an early admission/action applicant.

Thanks, padfoot. One more question: if i am deferred during SCEA, do I have to apply again RD or will my application be considered automatically?

Your app will be considered automatically.

Another question: When do I submit the financial aid application if I apply SCEA at Yale? The forms haven’t even appeared.

bump…
