questions about the ACT essay

Is it bad to use extremely opinionated words such as “absolutely” or “completely” in your essay? Will this fake passion be over-zealous?

Also, is it generally better to take a yes/no stance to the question, or will a third opinion from a different perspective make your essay “unique” and stand out?

Thanks!

From what I’ve read it is good to at least acknowledge the counter argument, but I think you’re supposed to refute it. I definitely think you need a yes/no stance. There are some good ACT essay guides on this forum, they’re very helpful.
