<p>I have read the offical scoring proccess in the blue book, and I have trouble understanding part of it and I doubt whether the readers score the essay exactly as it says.</p>
<p>Please help me to solve these problems:</p>
<p>①It seems that the Scoring Guide in the blue book suggests that an essay that has (is marked/flawed/severely flawed by) ONE OR MORE of the weakness described in features of the score of 1-3 will be scored that score, while an essay which is generally in accord with the features descirbed in those of the score of 4-6 will be scored that score. </p>
<p>So once an essay has a remarkable flaw, no matter how good it is as a whole, the essay will be scored 1-3.</p>
<p>Is it true?</p>
<p>②Do the length and writing style matters? It says that they don’t matter in the blue book, but is that really the case?</p>
<p>③I have heard that the historical or literature examples are better than other kinds of examples, is it true?</p>
