Reputation: darn good, especially if you plan to reside in CA afterwards.
School spirit: better than most private schools, not as good as most public universities. Lots of students are too busy with schoolwork to care from the way I see it.
Social scene/Campus life: plenty of folks who aren’t into this, but also plenty of folks who are into and can find any type of people you want.
Clark Kerr: I miss their food already. It’s far from campus, but i think the large room size and the food are totally worth it.
Best restaurant around Cal: personal favorite - Cheese Board Pizza
Other things to say: I love the school. It’s a national embarrassment whenever our football game is broadcasted and only about 2/3 of the stadium is filled on average, but otherwise, it certainly grew me as a person while I was there. I’m pretty convinced it’s significantly academically harsher than most other schools, but if you can get over that, it has tremendous resource and incredible people that’s truly once-in-a-lifetime experience.
