I took the SAT1 in march with a score:750CR, 690M, 750W

Took SATII in JUne and got MATHII 780 Chem 760 US history 770

Question: Isn’t it odd that my SATI math and MAth II Scores are so different? IS it necessary to retake SAT1 for better math score in light of SAT II performance-I plan on appling to BS/MD programs and premed such as Johns Hopkins, U of Michigan-have legacy(dad), Carnegie Mellon University(for bio)-have legacy(mom), along with Penn State and Pitt

Also, Is 760 Chem good enough for science type programs? NOt to confident about this years AP scores, sophmore year got 5 in Bio, stats took US history and Chem(HARD esp compared to SATII) this year

Other stats:
MALE Indian(US citizen) 4.4GPA decent+ extra ciriculars
Thanks for your help in advance

trust me i know about wierd sat / sat 2 scores.

My sat 2 math is 800.

my sat 1 is 660 :[

Well the SAT I math is more of a lower level but more of a game where strong math students in school may not do as well if not prepared for it, whereas the SAT II math is more of higher level math like you learn in school so it’s not really all that strange, and really, a 690 is not terrible!

Generally, anything above a 750 on SAT II’s are pretty good.

I don’t know too much about any of the schools except Penn State, and from what I know I think you’d be fine there.

SAT II Math is more focused on trigonometry. If you are better/worse on trig, that would explain your score difference.

Are colleges going to overlook bad SATI math score since I did well on SATII- I am wondering because I am trying to decide if I should retake the SATI in Oct. to bring up math score. I will probably apply early decision somewhere so there will be a lot of pressure that I want to avoid if I can get away with it. Thanks for the advice so far
