Questions and chances for transfering to FSU as a Sophomore in Fall 2010

Hey, first of all thank you for looking at my topic because i am really concerned about if i can get into FSU as a Sophomore in the fall. I have decided to major in Accounting or Marketing. So i have alot of questions to how can i make it as smooth as possible and what are my chances of getting in in the fall.

This is what the FSU websites requirements for transfer students.
Freshman and sophomore applicants (12-59 semester hours of transferable credit as determined by the Office of Admissions) must:

    * Meet freshman admission criteria;
    * Have at least a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) cumulative GPA on all college work attempted;
    * Have at least a 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) GPA on all college work attempted at the last institution;
    * Satisfy the Florida College-Level Academic Skills requirement; and
    * Meet the requirements for admission to the major/program of interest.

This is really just the basics so with my current stats what are my chances.

In HS i got a 3.22 gpa but i had alot of extra curricular activities just like now but i will talk about that part later.

As of right now i have a 3.125 gpa after 2 semesters. Here are the classes i have taken and my grades.

BSC 1010C     General Biology I   4.00    Graded  C

i am planning on taking the ACT’s again in Feb so that i can increase my scores, especially my reading because it is one point of on the CLAST minimum.

Also it seems like they dont require any transfer essays which i thought that was really weird so i was wondering how should i send them and other stuff that could possibly help me transfer. For example I read that recommendation letter are really useful for and could help persuade the readers into accepting me but it seems like they dont say that they need them. So i was wondering should i get like a mannila envelope full of recomendadion letters and like an essay to why they should let me in and send it to the admision office and if i send it will it actually be read? Because i was thinking of like having 2 or 3 letters from my professors saying how i handled college work. Also it seems that when i send in my application i am nothing more than just a number and a name to them and i cant talk about my accomplishments or anything like that. I have participated in many sports and leadership positions. For example i am an eagle scout and i was thinking of sending a letter from my scoutmaster hoping that it would do somehow benefit me. Also in my CC i am a assistant marketing chair adviser for my local community service organization and a student ambassador. i was wondering if there is any way how i can get that to them and like letters from our organization president to write letter for me so that i could send to them. Also for my essay what do i write about, how FSU would benefit me and how my attendance and participation would benefit them?

So i hope this is enough information about me and would give you a better idea if i have a chance and answers to some of my questions. thank you

bump cause im not sure if i should just write a transfer essay and send it in when they dont require one.

i think you’ll get in (: i’m pretty much on the same boat, as far as ACT scores- except my english and reading are higher and math is a 19 :frowning: i applied as a freshman with that and a 4.2 gpa and they rejected me because my score didn’t meet the criteria by a couple points :confused: but i’m applying as a summer transfer with hopefully a 4.0 college GPA. i am attending community college this semester and then UCF next sememster. not too hot on UCF though. tell me if you got in!
