<p>I’m a freshman in high school, and I really want to get into Cornell. However, my first semester grades were abysmal, about a 3.64 unadjusted. My current 2nd semester GPA is about a 3.8. I am involved in robotics, debate, and quiz bowl, and I take AP classes. I am a manager in my school’s marching band. I will be on the JV tennis team next year. I took the ACT in 7th grade as part of the Duke talent search, and received a 22, with the expectation that I will get about a 32-34 when I take it as a Junior. Do you think my chances of getting into Cornell (early decision) would be very good, or should I set my goals lower?</p>
<p>If you can keep that managing position in your school’s marching band, it will help you. But it is very early.</p>
