Hey guys
I am from Germany and I am going to spent two semesters at tufts as an exchange student. Fall 2006 & Spring 2007. I read nearly any of the threads at this webpage and I should thank everyone who posted some Information about tufts at this site. It´s one of the most interesting sites on the web if you want to get an overview about topics and discussions concerning tufts. And the photos of the university and their buildings were great! I am so looking forward to see them for real.
As many of you are really enthusiastic about tufts and answering questions maybe there are some guys who could help me with my questions
Where should I start? Ok
sports:
I have played football (sorry soccer!) in different teams since I was 7 and I want to go on with it during my time at Tufts. But actually I dont know anything about university- sports in the US. As an exchange student, am I allowed to play in Tufts- Teams? How many soccer-teams do Tufts have? Is there a League below Varsity? Is there a soccer-club where students can play for fun?
Campus Living:
Ill live on campus but I havent got the name of the house yet. Some friends of mine who spent a year of studying in the United States (not at Tufts) told me that it was really difficult to get into contact with American students and that they spent most of the time with other international students. How is it in Tufts? Are there special houses for exchange students? Do you actually know exchange or international students and would you call them your friends?
Another Question: I was told that during the time between the semesters you will have to leave campus. Is this right? Is there a place where you can stay because I actually want to invite some friends from Europe to visit me.
what else?
Questions concerning the party scene have been answered
I think thats it for the moment.
I would be really grateful if someone could answer one of my questions.
and if there are some mistakes
hey, one of the reasons Im going to Tufts is to improve my English
thanks & bye

You can play soccer in an intramural team, which means that you get together with firends and play against other people from Tufts.

You’ll probably hang out with a mix of international and american students, but it varies. I don’t know about how exchange students are housed though.

In the break between semesters, you can’t stay on campus but you can leave your stuff, so you won’t have to move in all over again. Over winter break, most people go home.

hey nils83,

i am an international studetns too. I love soccer. HOpe, i’ll play with you in the intramural soccer teams or maybe in Varsity.
