Questions from international

Hi there, hope everything is fine for all ! I am very interested in Stanford, but confused with some parts of my life.

So, first of all, I am quite old (21 yeas old), does it will affect on me?

Secondly, I am graduated from high-school around 5 years ago, and have been working in different places plus military service. They( admission department) still will be looking for my grades seriously or they will be more concentrating on my SAT scores and work-experience?

Finally, what about work-experience and recommendations from employers? I have around 3+ years of work-experience in varying places ( Ministries, banks and etc) with recommendations from all my employers. Does it really weight in admission process?

Thanks a lot !!!

Heh, Silence like in Silent Hill ;D

OP. Your age (21) will not be counted against you as long as you have been productive and expanding your “mind” in the 5 years since your high school graduation…it can actually be an asset for some if you can draw upon your experiences to write great essays…

…nevertheless, 5 years of working will not compensate for poor grades, test scores, or any weaknesses in your academic file. All components of your application will be evaluated in the context of your opportunities or lack thereof in your country…

…hope this helps. Good luck.

Thanks a lot!!!
