Questions on financial aid information

When they ask if your parents ever received TANF or something, does that include food stamps or food stamps is different from TANF?

Federal benefits that FAFSA asks are:
Supplemental Security Income (SSI), Food Stamps, Free or Reduced Price School Lunch, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), or Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC)

Oh Okay thanks. I do have another question. Since my parents income is slightly different every year, how am i able to predict how much they will make the next year?

The income you need to provide for profile now and fafsa when it’s available on 1/1/13 is the 2012 income, not 2013 income. Unless your parents have a more complex income situation, they should have a good idea on their income for 2012 based on paystubs to date and bank statements to date.

They do ask for what is the expected income for 2013… Most of the answers i provided on Profilee/CSS is zero because my parents literally make very little like 10,000 for 5 people and have no savings etc. They told me the kind of job they do is not professional (not college grads), it’s hard to predict what is their income for the next year and it’s slightly different every year.

Just estimate. You can put the same $10K for 2013 or, if you think it will be a bit less, take off some money. They just want to know if the income is expected to jump for some reason.

Oh okay thanks :)
