S and I are headed to Madison Sq Garden for a concert. I normally take Amtrak in and back when I go to NYC. However the last Amtrak leaves at 11:15 pm so I am considering taking NJ Transit as they run later.
I used to drive to Metropark a lot so I know that general area and how to get there. I am looking for advice on the easiest and safest place to park and ride, considering we will be coming home well after midnight. Right now I’m thinking Metropark or Hamilton. Any tips?

I am leaning toward Metropark now because I know it is easy to get to. Hamilton is a little closer to me but it is tricky as it is not right off the turnpike or garden state. I’d feel relatively safe at MP I think.
Or Princeton junction right of route one. Guessing you’re coming from south jersey? Are you down the shore? If so, is the North Jersey coastline not a better option for you?

I think more trains stop in Princeton Junction that Hamilton, but I’m not sure about that. It is a very safe, nice train station right off route one and is a much closer drive to Philly area then Metropark. Metropark is probably another 30-40 minutes north driving. I don’t know anything about Hamilton.
Hmmm Princeton Junction looks good but the parking info indicates that parking sells out by 6:30 am every morning and there is some other permit lot I’d have to try. I had better check the Hamilton and Metropark lots in case they have similar problems.
Metropark has lots of parking and is easy on/easy off. Well lit.
