I figured I should probably take this question to the source:

Keep in mind my degree from UofM will be as a “general studies” or “liberal arts” major (I took too many classes that interested me, and not enough that filled core reqs! It wasn’t a creampuff schedule, however, but will they know that? Anyways, I want to graduate on time so a Michigan BA/BS is out of the question). On the other hand, my degree from Brown would most likely be philosophy (very slight chance of history).

Where will you be paying less, accounting for financial aid?

I believe that transferring to Brown would not raise your law school chances appreciably from what they would be with a 4.0 from Michigan. If you get a high enough LSAT score, you should have a solid shot at the most selective law schools in the country.
