Quick interview question

I've just had my interview, and the guy I talked to sounded young, gave me a duke.edu email and said, "just an informal" interview, and we're meeting at a coffee shop.

As far as clothing goes, I'm guessing a "night w/ friends" type approach would be best, with a button up shirt, but buttoned half way with nice jeans and black shoes, if that makes sense, would be the best approach?

I only ask because my other interview was with a professor emeritus at his office, so they're very different types of interviews it seems. I don't want to wear the jacket and tie again if it's meant to actually be an informal interview.

I would go with kakis and a nice shirt...first impressions are what the interviewer grasps...
