Lets say you are terrible in math, exactly how many semesters of math do you need to get your accounting degree? Also, if it is (like many other schools) 2, could you take math 014 and then math 119?

Regardless of how terrible you are in math, you have to take the following 3 math classes (or a qualified substitution):

MATH M118 Finite Math
MATH M119 Brief Survey of Calculus 1
ECON E370 Business and economics statistics

You could take a lower class and work your way up to these, but unless you are a direct admit, it might affect when you can apply to the business school, and most people get in after grades have been posted for the fall and spring semesters and the following summer sessions.

You can substitute MATH-K 310 for E 370. K310 usually gives out better grades.

On a side note, there is no math in accounting other than±/x . I finished my Intermediate Financial Accounting I final yesterday and an extra credit problem was literally a high school algebra problem mixed with depreciation (the high school algebra was what was supposed to make it worth the extra credit).

Thanks guys.

Another substitute for ECON E370 is ECON E270 at IUPUI. E270 meets only 12 times in the IUPUI summer session, as opposed to the 45 times (plus 2 tests and group work meetings) that E370 meets in Bloomington.
