Does a magnet stick on the silver (stainless) part(s)?

Somebody told me the “late models” hold magnets. I’m skeptical.

Thanks.

One of the reasons I told family I wanted SS was so I didn’t have to see crap accumulating on my fridge ever again…

Now, don’t tell my family, but my SS Kitchenaid purchased last year does hold magnets.
They’ve just never tried with the new fridge. I love the clean look. (now if I could just get them to quit leaving finger prints…)

Even if you cannot see them, all those finger residue marks are there, so I tell myself it is a good reminder to keep things clean ;)

Stainless steel appliances are NOT magnetic. Brushed chrome (which looks like stainless) IS magnetic.

Stainless appliances look nice, but fingerprints are an issue. The salesman admitted that he cleans his fridge doors (which get a lot of customer handling) every night with a special cleaner. Supposedly those with toddler and dogs with wet noses complain the most. College parents may not mind as much.

I’m a low maintenance kind of gal. We opted for black.

My fridge is SS and it does not hold magnets and it does show fingerprints. My D recently bought a SS with the drawer freezer on the bottom. I believe it is also SS (not brushed chrome) but it does not show any fingerprints- I am so jealous!

We got a new Kenmore (bottom freezer) stainless steel fridge a couple of months ago. Magnets don’t stick to the the front but they do stick to the sides which aren’t stainless steel.

Attention…easiest way eveeer to get rid of finger prints on Stainless steel (tip given to me by the guy who sold us the fridge). It’s so cheap and simple…Baby Oil.
Squirt a little baby oil on toilet paper…not paper towels, napkins or cloths…has to be toilet paper. Rub on the stainless steel doors in the same direction as the grain until prints disappear. Mine is a horizontal grain. Some might be vertical. Your doors will look and smell great and repel finger prints for a couple of weeks.

Maybe ours is brushed steel but it looks like SS and it holds magnets. It’s a Maytag side by side.

Does get fingerprints, though not as easily as some, I just spray it every few days with a glass type cleaner I found that doesn’t leave streaks on it. No biggie.
