Quick Question Need Quick Response!

Are the bunks at USNA regular twin beds or are they extra long twin beds? (My mom is going to buy me sheets today). THANKS!

eh…someone correct me if i’m wrong, but i’ve never heard of us needing to bring our own sheets

I think he means for NASS. If not, I apologize.

However, if you are talking about NASS, they simply state “twin size bed linens” so I presume regular size. That is what I am bringing.

Ah, ok. I never went to NASS, so I wouldn’t know anything about the sheet situation.

For Plebe Summer, you will be issued EVERYTHING you need. Trust me. :)

Tell your mom to stop being such a … mom. ;)

Is she a good cook? Tell her to make you good stuff for the next two weeks. THAT you will miss! :D

If you meant NASS (all these names are running together!), I don’t know what they do, but the mattresses USED to be standard twin.

I meant NASS, and jesus this forum is active! thanks for the quick replies! you made my mom happy

dash-
i’m bringing regular twin sheets. so i sure hope that’s what we need!

see you tomorrow!

I know I will! I’m going to miss all her crazy delicious concoctions. Maybe I’ll start compiling a list of all my favorite meals she makes so she can type/write up a recipe book for me (our hard drive was killed, and now all my beautiful typed recipes are gone). Scones with black currents…mmm…

Now there is the first thing on my list of things to miss. Darn you, Zaphod. ;)

;)

At the risk of sounding macabre, enjoy her cooking while you can. I lost my mom in 1997. That woman could put a professional chef to shame. All too often, you don’t appreciate what you have until you don’t. Thus endeth the lesson. :)

You’ll also miss long luxurious showers. :D

No I won’t! Saturday night is real shower night for me (gotta be clean for Sunday morning mass); the other showers are two minute soap-ups/rinse-downs. (Actually today I had my first real shower in a while. Nasty, I know. It doesn’t matter; it’s not like I’m out in public every day.) In a household of a dozen people, if someone is in the shower over 3-5 minutes, we know it’s either the man of the house (who always takes showers that are at least 15 minutes long) or someone who is trying to get out of work (and is thus reported as MIA and given compensation for their ducking out of work–haha)!

Regular twin.

When I was there for BGO training, a lot of folks only brought a top sheet. But you may need to bring both, I don’t know. All bunks are top bunks. Have fun!

While we’re on the topic…

At my CVW, all the mids in my room slept in sleeping bags. I had heard that this was a common thing so as to avoid the need to make the rack every morning. When’s the earliest we can have a sleeping bag or something up there?

Youngster Year would be my guess…

I believe I saw a posting from Wheelah44 that said nearly everyone slept on top of their reg rack. You should be able to start using a comforter or sleeping bag beginning of AC year.

Current mids, chime in at any point. ;)

I haven’t had cooking from my mom in three or four years. Haha, most of you all are so attached to your parents. Its sort of funny for me. I’ll be lucky if a get a single Boodle package, maybe one from my grandparents, but it will get old after that.

I know your parents are probably annoying, but its a whole heck of a lot better to have annoying parents than parents who could give a **** what you are doing and where. I mean they care (my moms like West Point, ok, I thought you were going to a real school…) and (my dads like West Point, I can tell my friends, BTW don’t get shot or anything)

A sleeping bag can be brought after plebe summer.
