I’m a Junior in HS ready to apply for college…I’m in Georgia and plan on staying. Anyways…my application says something about if you are early admissions you need a letter of recommendation from your high school counselor and parents. What is considered to be early admissions? I’m applying early because they are rolling admissions…I am not starting “early” just applying early. Do I have to have the letters, or not?

I believe they are speaking about students who are applying to college before their senior year of high school.

crud…so I need the letter
and the counselor has had 3 days to call me back and has not done so. Grrr

It’s not the date of the application that matters. Are you applying to enter college after your senior year, with high school diploma in hand? If so, you don’t need the letter. If it’s just that you’re applying in August, so you’re not a senior yet, you’re fine.

The letter is required of those who want to start college after their junior year, skipping their senior year in high school entirely.

oh…no, heres the thing:

I will be a Senior in high school. I’m just applying early but will finish my senior year normally before entering their college.

So, I am not the one who needs the letter? If so, that is awesome.

I think if you read the school’s policy closer it will be clearer to you. Would strongly urge you to call on Admissions dept., if you’re still not clear. No better way to find out school admission policy than by calling on school’s Admission dept.

I have been through their website tons of times and this was never mentioned…which is why it took me off guard on the application. I will probably call whenever I’m not working next week and see what they say.
