Hi everyone, I’ve been reading this website for a long time yet have never posted… until now!
Here’s my situation: I have a 2000 Sat (long story) and a 33 ACT. I know my ACT is much better, and I would like the adcoms to see it (and not the 2000). Yet for most selective places I will be forced to send in my SAT score report (because of required subject tests) Now here is my question: Will they only look at my 33 and forget about the 2000 or will they look upon me in a bad light because of the 2000. Thanks.

Many colleges will accept the ACT in place of the SAT and the SAT II’s. Which colleges are you apply to?

True for some schools, but not all mj93.

Floyd, schools vary in the way the interpret data. Most will look at your 33 and use that and be very happy with your scores. But there’s always the psychological factor that comes with an inconsistent SAT/ACT score. If they see the 2000, (not a bad score, of course, just nowhere near the 33) something may stick in their brain.

If your SAT score is really a “long story”, is there a good chance you’ll do significantly better if you retake? (Honestly, I think you’re fine without a retake, but you may feel that its better to be safe than sorry.)

Thanks Pete and mj93.

well, I believe most colleges don’t have time to take them into too much consideration…I think u should be fine w/ ur 33 even if they see the 2000!
