why do idiots that never went to school in high school and still dont care about school go to community college, and these are the guys that dont even transfer or even finish college, they just sign up and make the easiest classes a big deal

I mean it kind of makes me happy that im around idiots and that the smart ones are at uc’s because thats less competition for me, but man they are so weird for coming

in my perspective, i see a high school diploma as a joke and thinks its hilarious how kids are crying on the last month to graduate, i mean its so easy that its harder for me to get a d than a c lol. i also think that a 2 year college diploma is a joke as well because i dont see the different jobs you can get with a 2 year diploma from a hs diploma

You should read a book by Zachary Campbell called “What’s College For?” It gives some interesting statistics, specifically one that mentions the huge percentage increase in College students from the 1960’s to now. He then goes on to explain how the increasing number of college graduates equates to a proportional increase in difficulty for a career requiring a college diploma.

I suppose I the American dream provides inspiration, that every person can change his future for the better. If attaining a college degree is a means to that end, surely you can see why going to college is a desire for most people. With that said, this common phrase also applies to those “idiots” you are referring to: “They can talk the talk, but can they walk the walk?” Remember, desire doesn’t always equate to success, and that “actions speak louder than words.” So don’t worry too much about them, lest you fall into their same dilemma.

I also assume you’re referring to an AA degree when you mention a 2 year diploma. They’re actually not a joke, and do require some knowledge to attain them. For example, you must attain an AA in Mechanics to become a Mechanic, and other AA degrees like in Nursing, are beneficial for a 4 year diploma.

this always drives me crazy…
the reason these ■■■■■■■ attempt CC is a combo pack.
first of all, because they can- nobody gets denied assuming you graduated high school or have something equivalent. The fact that most of these kids have never formed any sort of plan for their life makes community college extremely appealing to them. They feel like they are accomplishing something because they sign up for 2 classes (and they are always classes which are overcrowded but somehow they were able to register for)…
Of course, once you are into the meat of the semester, you will stop seeing these kids because they always just stop attending—usually long after the time when they could have withdrawn without penalty… as if it matters because they wouldn’t have taken the appropriate steps to properly drop the class anyways.
Have no fear though, next semester a brand new crop of these “students” will pop up, insuring that genuine students will continue to face problems parking, problems getting classes they need, and problems getting counseling/administrative help. God Bless our tolerant CC system. Do not let these ****heels concern you. They are cracks in the ground to be stepped over and don’t feel bad because trust me, they are used to it.

A lot of people go on about high school is the best 4 years of their lives. When they graduate, they get scared that that might be true and make at least a lip-service attempt at getting educated. They might never learn a thing, but dammit, they dropped those classes because the professor just hated them for no reason or had a weird accent, or they were just way too busy to take 12 units a semester. If they make a thing out of going, they can rationalize it to themselves.

Well, I know some parents see CC as a requirement to continue living in their house. I wouldn’t be so harsh, some kids do eventually get it together and transfer out.
