Quick Question

I recently went to an open house at ________ school. I am asian, but I saw maybe one or two on campus, and two asians at the open house!

Would my ethnicity hurt my chances even though asians seem to be the minority?

Some schools make an effort to get as many students as possible out of the way for an open house. There may be trips arranged for that weekend day, for example. Day students may be at home. Athletes may be away at games. That’s all to say, there may be many more asians in the student body than you saw at the open house.

If, on a visit to the school during a regular school day, you saw few asians, then you might worry. It might be better to ask about the percentage of asian students during your interview, than to worry about it without any information.

was it at Middlesex?

i think its a good thing if ur a minority at that school, bcuz schools want diversity.

thank you shinebright, and no its not middlesex
