Is there a point to having AP Stat credit if it only places you out of STA 10 because on the statistics website it says that you can place into STA 103 (which is all I need for an econ major) if I already have credit for MATH 31 (which I do from my 5 on Calc AB). I’m just wondering because I want to know if I should study for my AP stat next week or focus on something else.

I’m sure STA 10 will count as something in the Trinity Graduation requirement

AP credits never count towards Trinity requirements. You’re going to have to take STA 103 (or another 100-level STA course) for Econ anyways, so STA 10 is completely irrelevant in your case (and in almost all cases, I think).

Ignore my previous post then, I don’t know much about Trinity requirements. Pratt doesnt’ give AP credit for AP Stat.

Useless test I guess

So I can place right into STA 103 without STA 10 or the Stat AP credit right?

Can anyone confirm this before I go out and bomb this test, lol?

Read that…

From Duke ACES for STA 103
Prerequisites: Mathematics 31 or equivalent. Not open to students who have credit for another 100-level statistics course.

Thanks for the info noobcake. And while we’re on the subject, am I correct to say that AP U.S. Government and AP English Lit get me out of nothing in the way of prereqs for other classes? Are there even any polisci/english classes that have prereqs? I’ve seen that some AP credit does nothing but count towards the 2 to shave down your total graduation requirements from 34 to 32, but if they won’t help me get out of classes later on then I won’t worry about those either.
