Quick writing question.

  1. Jorge wanted, [for the most part,] to travel around the world [after graduation], but sometimes he [thought about] [taking a job] at his mother's company instead.

I choose A, but the answer is E (no mistake). My reasoning for A: “For the most part” - for the most part of what? It doesn’t express what the main part is. For the most part of his time? For the most part of his life?

Please do enlighten me why the answer is E.

Maybe because there is no error in the sentence. You are overthinking it.

“For the most part” is just an English idiom, I think. In this context it means that he mostly wanted to travel. Sometimes he wanted to get a job instead. Your “for the most part of his time” is pretty accurate.

@bodangles Thank you.
