Quinnipiac Early Action/Early Decision Class of 2030 Official Thread

This is the official thread for those applying EA/ED to Quinnipiac University.

List your unweighted GPA, any SAT /ACT scores, and ECs. What majors are you going into?

It is now officially “early December”! Has anyone heard anything? D26 interviewed with admissions and they said it would definitely be “before Christmas” He also told her that the acceptance rate was 55%, which is much lower than what is posted anywhere. She had already submitted her application so I hope he wasn’t preparing her for bad news by making the school seem more selective than it is.

I saw on Reddit that there were some people that said they were accepted- wondering if this was ED as I know they have been rolling out there ED decisions for some time now.

I think that was ED. Last year, EA decisions rolled out on Thursday, 12/5. So…I would think they could be released this Thursday, 12/4 (or Friday 12/5)

Thrilled to report that D26 received her acceptance to Quinnipiac this morning!!! The merit award was good, however, not as high as I was hoping. But she was also pre-approved for direct entry into a 4+1 program so it’s still a viable option for her.

My son got in as well this morning! Very excited. He also got merit, but I can’t tell from the letter if the amount is per year or over four years. It says it’s “to be applied toward tuition, for completion of your bachelor’s degree,” which sounds like it’s over four years, but in the next sentence it says it’s “renewable” provided he maintains the requisite GPA. Usually when schools say it’s “renewable,” don’t they specify the amount (25%) that you can apply towards each year?

I think most merit awards are per year. Sometimes they give the total for 4 years but a lot of times they don’t.

I went back and re-read the letter and I think they’re just giving the award for the freshman year. They they’re saying it’s renewable as long as the student keeps up the GPA.

So all EA results were released today, correct? I want to add the date to the calendar. Thanks!

Yes- I was actually going to send a reply on the calendar thread but I was running late for work

It looks like it corresponds exactly with last year (first Thursday of December). Not sure if that means there will be 2 more waves like last year as well.

I think they release EA rolling. I can’t find it now, but I saw a post on another site with Quinnipiac EA admits this morning, and at least one EA student hadn’t yet heard.

Last year they promoted specific dates on their social media- December 5, 12, and 19. This year, they didn’t but the first notifications seem to correspond with the day of the week from last year (Thursday). So maybe next Thursday there will be another wave.

I wonder if they release based on school. D26 is School of Communications.

I believe they come out in waves the next 3 Thursdays for early action. They is how they have done it last few years.

CONGRATULATIONS!! Last year the first wave seemed to be a trend of the 4+1 acceptances. Curious if anyone who heard today was a normal undergraduate acceptance.

My kiddo 3+1 and accepted today for business:)

My son was also a 3+1 acceptance (Econ major, but with 3+1 mba option), with honors program too! It’s such a great opportunity, particularly with the merit aid. Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear!
